The Fulton Foundation

Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve

The Fulton Foundation's mission is to benefit and assist the students and faculty of Fulton High School.  Our goal is to aid students in various ways: required drug tests for internships, equipment for jobs, special events, scholarships for regional, state, and national competitions, and school business attire. We will provide assistance to the faculty by providing funds for workshops, seminars, classroom equipment, etc. Finally, the foundation will help upgrade school facilities such as the auditorium.

Best Seats in the House

Friends of Fulton High School,

Have you heard or read about the incredible energy and innovation that is growing here at the new Fulton High School?  It’s far more than professional dress and a change in the physical structure of the school.  It is an eagerness to learn and a new dedication on the part of our students, faculty and administration.

Another magnificent learning opportunity is unfolding here at Fulton High School.  Our existing auditorium was completed in 1951.  At that time some essential options were cut from the budget including an acoustical system that included the placement and orientation of sound-diffusing, sound-reflecting, and sound-absorbing elements to achieve the proper acoustical environment for the auditorium.  In short, we ended up with an auditorium that has the acoustics of a gymnasium rather than a performing arts center.

Almost 60 years of wear and tear have left our stage accessories including the curtains, lighting and sound in desperate need of repair and upgrading.

Can you imagine a state-of-the-art performing arts center that meets the needs of both the student body and the North Knoxville community?  Imagine a center that could house community meetings as well as performances by our theater, band and music departments.  Can you imagine a performing arts center that would allow our students the hands-on experience of learning the technical aspects of theater lighting and sound design?

This is the vision that the Fulton High School Foundation has for our school and we would like for you to share in that vision.  Such upgrades are expensive and not within the reach of funding from the tax dollars that you already pay to support Knox County Schools.  Would you consider a small or large tax-deductible contribution to the Fulton High School Foundation to make this dream for our students a reality?  I can assure you that it will not be a shrine, but a living, breathing learning center for our students and the North Knoxville Community.

We kicked off our “Best Seat in the House” Campaign on October 20.  You can honor or memorialize a loved one, a mentor, a teacher or a group by “purchasing” a seat in our new performing arts center. The seat will then bear an engraved name plate.  Seats range from $50.00 to $1000.00 so there is a giving level for everyone.  Your contribution will make our dream for the Fulton family a reality!

Sincerely,
